Dress Code:
Dancers 3-7 years must wear fitted dance clothes of any color or style. Please make sure they wear socks or tights to prevent blisters from tap shoes.

Dancers 8 and older must wear fitted dance clothes, preferably black.

No Jeans, t-shirts, baggy clothes allowed. Dancers showing up for class in inappropriate attire will be not permitted in class.

Shoes:
The class you enrolled for will determine the type of shoe/shoes required. Please refer to the Class Description page on this website for required shoes.

Attendance Rules:
Regular attendance is crucial in order for dancers to improve and accomplish new skills. Those with poor attendance interfere with progress for the class as a whole group. It is unfair for other dancers to have to repeat skills they’ve already mastered due to poor attendance of classmates. There NPDC has established the following attendance rules:

  • Call the studio and leave a message, if you’re going to be absent: 952-758-2034
  • Any student missing 3 classes in a row will automatically be dropped from the class roster.
  • Any student missing more than 4 classes a year will not be allowed to participate in the spring recital.
  • Make up classes will be allowed through November 2009 and may be arranged by calling 952-233-3727.
  • Competition Students may not miss more than 2 unexcused absences during the school year.
(Exceptions for emergency situations will be allowed on a case by case basis.)

Drop Out Procedure
Immediate notification is required, if your child decides to discontinue dance classes. You will be required to pay for all dance classes received. Registration fees are non-refundable. Costume fees are non-refundable. (Costume fees are invoiced in October.) Once your child has discontinued a class, you may not re-enroll in a dance program at NPDC until the next session.

Tuition:
Monthly tuition statements will be emailed to each account the 16th of each month. You may contact Rebecca to request statements be received via postal service, however in order to maintain affordable tuition rates we encourage email statements. Tuition rates are posted under the Class Description tab on this website. Multifamily discounts apply. A 10 day grace period will be allowed. All payments received after the 10th of the month will be accessed a $5.00 late fee. A finance charge of 18% on accumulation of any balance due will continue to accrue until tuition is received. Payment may be made by check, cash or credit card. A credit card slip is made available in your first invoice for those wishing to charge tuition. Please fill it out and return it with your first invoice. Any account delinquent more than one month will jeopardize future classes at NPDC.

Class Cancellations:
NPDC services dancers from several school districts, therefore school weather cancellations will vary during poor weather. We may not cancel classes, even if some schools cancel and visa versa. Class cancellations will be determined by 1:00 pm. Please call the studio (952-758-2034) to hear a recorded message for class cancellations. Cancellations will also be announced on KCHK radio.

Classes:
NPDC strives to give our dancers the best possible experience and dance education. In order to keep classes consistent, we try to keep children of the same age/ability level grouped together. We do not want to compromise quality in order to accommodate schedules or requests to dance (or not dance) with specific children. All children will be evaluated during the first class in order to assure proper class placement. Any questions concerning class placement may be addressed to Rebecca.

Competition Groups:
Competition groups are selected by invitation only. We select dancers who’ve:

  • Attended class regularly
  • Give 100% during class time
  • Practice regularly outside of class and master required skills
  • Respect teachers and their peers
  • Work with team spirit
  • Pay fees on time
The dance year is considered the “audition”. Competition invitations are delivered each spring, before recital.

NPDC assumes those enrolled in our dance program will be participating in the spring recital, unless notified.
